Hello Dali!

Dali Dali Dali....

such a strange man. weve just finished studied him in my art history class and I really like him. Hes so complex. My friend Arlo and I wrote our final paper about him and his wife Gala together and instead of an old boring power point presentation, we did a skit! It was very funny and the teacher might as well have given us a standing ovation, but instead she was like "Oh Zoo! (thats what she calls me) Arlo! That was so creative! Perfect! I loved it! I should hire you for my other classes." So were basically the favorites now.

We also went to the dali Museum in figures friday for a field trip with our professora. It was great to be there with her because she knows everything. Hes crazy.

Thanksgiving was pretty good. We ate at my friend Matts familys apartment. They were visiting and made a Turkey and all the " acoutremon" (Remy?) It was nice. katie was there too. And now shes gone. And i will have no more visitors until FRED comes in, oh....24 days. But whose counting?

Last night I saw Madeline Peyroux at the Palau de Musica, she was amazing. She has such a gorgeous voice!

aMAZEing! (but not really because it was closed)

This weekend I spent most of my time writing a paper about Dali and Gala. However I did take a few breaks to learn the catalan national dance, The Sardana, outside the dorm. You stand in a circle holding hands and do alot of fancy footwork. I dont think I could remember that 20minute dance lesson if my coming back to america depended on it. The guy teaching us (just some 17 or 18year old kid from the dorm) was very patient but not a very good teacher.

Last night I made some little sock puppets that will be staring the sockpuppet show I will be performing sometime in the next week or two in public. I think the plot is roughly going to be that of When The Grinch Stole Christmas, but a little funnier. Alot of the "bad guy" (who has slanty eyebrows!) getting chased by the dog of the good family. Pictures of that soon when its completed. If it is well recieved, you know good reviews and everything, i mgiht just drop out of school and comit my life to the art of sock puppets. seriously. what you dont believe me? I know YOU believe me, mom. THis whole thing was her idea, anyway.

Today I went to the Parc De Labyrinth. Its a really pretty park with a hedge maze. But the maze was closed. Broken cypress trees or something. We tried to climb through the hedges into it, but some of us have been eating only french fries and chocolate pudding for dinner in the dorm and couldnt fit. at least ill miss the christmas cookie craze this year. but maybe mom will send me banana bread??????Please?

November days

this weekend I:

snuck onto a pool deck of a 5star hotel and hung out there for awhile

saw an extrememly bizzarre play which involved dolls of 12year old girls, xome cvered in fake blood and weird guy with a lot of piercings and tatoos changing on stage into a black catsuit. The picture of the weird heads on a building is the theatre, so you can only imagine.

Had some almost raw pork in the cafeteria

Made up a drinking song abotu sangria

And missed home a little....(DA BULLS)

And to those who are anxiously awaiting my review of that restaurant kathy mentioned, dont worry the time is soon!

Natalie was here last week...

we went up to monseratt (by way of scary cable car), not really any pointalism as natalie pointed out...

we saw a boys choir up there. they only sang like TWO songs, and then puberty hit.

I threw a Halloween Party at my friend Kelsy's apartment and spent most of the night trying to entertain these study abroad squares and get them to stay in character. no one gets halloween like i do.

im just hanging around barcelona for the next few weeks trying to save some money. Katie is coming around thanksgiving and then Natalie and I are going to stockholm the first weekend in december!!!
